Programme’s objectives :

Objectives:

In recent years, drones have undergone tremendous development. Due to the low price and ease of use, drones have been widely utilized in many application scenarios, which potentially pose great threats to national security and personal privacy. To mitigate these threats, it is necessary to deploy anti-drone systems in sensitive areas to detect, localize, and defend against intruding drones. With this aim, this course proposed the following objectives:

 

1. To educate and train persons in Anti-Drone & Autonomous Technology to a skilled level of expertise in the domain area of the growing drone Sector.

2. To train the candidates on professional skills and professional knowledge related to Anti-Drone & Autonomous Technology. In addition to this a candidate is entrusted to undertake project work and Extra-Curricular Activities to build up confidence.

Relevance of the program:

The use of drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), both for military and civilian purposes, has increased in India in the past decade. At the same time, counter-drone systems are also being developed to address the threats posed by UAV/drone. So, training of students on this new technology is very relevant observing the fast growth of this sector.

Nature of  prospective target group of learners:

Admission to course

Students who have completed (passed in all components of) Graduation (B.Tech/B.E.) in relevant stream with minimum 50 % marks.

Appropriateness of programme to acquire specific skills and competence :

The students will be involved in the whole process of Drone & Autonomous Technology practices from the initial concept through to delivery and the outcome of the program will be to make them employable in growing drone sector.

Duration: 1 year (2 semesters).

Instructional Strategy:

Medium: English.

Theoretical and Practical sessions at Classroom.

Procedure for admissions, curriculum transaction and evaluation

Admission procedure:

The process of admission to this program shall be as per the prospectus and other documents, training videos; etc published from time to time at the university’s authorized web sites. The admission process may be conducted through online payment using a portal duly dedicated for the purpose.

 

Eligibility criteria for the admission:

 

Students who have completed (passed in all components of) Graduation (B. TECH/B.E.) in any stream with minimum 50 % marks.

Course fee: Rs. 50,000 /- per Semester.

Practical sessions:

To perform the practical’s at the learner’s Support centers.

Provision of a practical book for the learners.

Library Resources: To be purchased.
